Patricia “Patty” Williams

MEMORIAL TRIBUTE

In Loving Memory of
Patricia “Patty” Williams

Birthdate: December 29, 1959

Transition Date: March 11, 2026

A life lived boldly, spoken loudly, and remembered fully.

LIFE CHAPTER I — THE EARLY YEARS

From the beginning, she had something to say. Quick to report what her older sisters were doing, she was observant, sharp, and never afraid to speak up. Even as a child, her voice carried confidence and she used it.

LIFE CHAPTER II — ADULTHOOD & PRESENCE

As an adult, she carried herself with authority. Working in public transportation, she understood movement, responsibility, and people. She spoke freely, laughed loudly, and protected those she loved in her own unmistakable way.

LIFE CHAPTER III — TRAVEL

Travel brought her energy and joy. She embraced new places with confidence and curiosity. Wherever she went, she carried her voice, her laughter, and her unmistakable presence.

LIFE CHAPTER IV — FASHION QUEEN

Style was not a detail — it was her declaration. She dressed with intention, pride, and presence. When she stepped into a room, she did not blend in. She arrived.

LIFE CHAPTER V — THE SMILE

She talked often, laughed loudly, and filled space with her energy. That smile — wide, expressive, unmistakable — made her presence known before she ever spoke. It is a smile that remains unforgettable.

OBITUARY

Patricia Julia Williams was born December 29, 1959, to the late Geneva and James Williams Jr. From birth, Patty made sure everyone knew she was the baby of the family and deserved all the attention. She loved annoying her siblings and quickly labeled a “tattle tale”.

Patty graduated from Bloom Trail High School and attended Prairie State College all while taking care of a young child. She began her career journey as a school bus driver and was quickly promoted to a bus driver trainer. In 1995, she set her sights on a new chapter in Alanta, Georgia. There, she dedicated years of service to MARTA, starting as a City Bus Driver and ultimately retiring as a Rail Operator. She was a licensed Real Estate Agent.

However, if you Patty, you’d know her real job was shopping, traveling, and having a good time.  She was the life of the party! Many people will remember her signature laugh. Patty never met a conversation she didn’t like. Whether she was catching up with friends or gossiping with family, she never cared about calling any time day or night to get the scoop.  If you were to ask Patty, her greatest legacy was her daughter and grandchildren. She always bragged to anyone who would listen and loved her family fiercely.

She departed this life on March 11, 2026. She is survived by her daughter Latrina (Eric) Brown, her grandchildren Jalen Brown, Zion Williams, Danielle Rodgers, and Erica Brown.  Also, her siblings, Mary Williams, Carlton Williams, Christopher Williams, and Darlene Williams.

She now joins the love who went before her: her parents, siblings Cheryl Hall and Gregory Williams, and former partner Leon Rogers.
